An Islay malt where intense smokiness and delicate sweetness intertwine in a complex way. The peat aroma lingers long, and its distinctive flavor is addictive.
The ultimate Islay malt. A perfect paradox of intense peat aroma and sweetness
"Ardbeg TEN (10 Years Old)" is a single malt whisky representing Scotland's Islay island, known for its intense smokiness. Boasting a high malt phenol level—so much so that it is called part of the "peated aristocracy"—it features some of the most intense peat and iodine (maritime) aromas among Islay malts.
However, its greatest appeal is the "peaty paradox": a delicate sweetness hidden within the intense smokiness. Through non-chill-filtered production without chill-filtration, the malt's inherent umami, refreshing fruit flavors reminiscent of lemon and pear, and a vanilla-like luscious finish emerge brilliantly from deep beneath the rugged smoke. It is recommended neat, or with a small amount of room-temperature water as a "twice-up" to release its hidden aromas.
Tucked away quietly in Kannai, Yokohama, "bar83rd" is an adult hideaway bar for whisky enthusiasts. In a completely smoke-free, clean environment, you can fully enjoy the vivid and profound aromas of Islay malts without any interference. Tonight, please do try the ultimate smoky glass.
