"Uigeadail" is the name of the life-giving loch used as the water source for the Ardbeg distillery, meaning "dark and mysterious place" in Gaelic. Living up to its name, it is a masterpiece of Islay malt with a deep and mysterious flavor.

Smoky unaged whiskies matured in bourbon casks are blended with sweet and mellow unaged whiskies long-aged in Oloroso sherry casks. From deep beneath the powerful peat smoke characteristic of Islay, rich sweetness reminiscent of Christmas cake, ripe fruit, and caramel emerges in overlapping layers. The heavy body brought by the high alcohol content (54.2%) and the successful fusion of contradictory elements into an ultimate balance continue to captivate enthusiasts around the world.
