The alcohol content boasts an overwhelming potency of 120 proof (60% ABV), further exceeding that of standard Knob Creek. However, through long-term aging of 9 years or more, the rough edges are smoothed out, and a profound oak aroma and rich sweetness like maple syrup take over the palate with surprising mellowness. The gradation of aromas that changes dramatically with a single drop of water is also a thrill unique to high-proof single barrels.
