The origin of Japanese highball, loved since the good old days
Familiar for its beautiful kikkou (tortoise shell) patterned bottle, "Suntory Kakubin." Since its birth in 1937, it has been close to Japanese dining tables and bars, loved alongside memories of the good old days; it is a long-selling Japanese whisky that truly needs no introduction.
The sweet aroma and rich body born from a well-balanced blend of bourbon cask unblended whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu, and the dry, crisp aftertaste, show a perfect compatibility as if it were designed specifically to be mixed with soda. While the nickname "Kaku-hai" has become fully established, in an authentic space like ours, please feel free to smartly order it as "soda-up."
At the hidden-gem bar "bar83rd" in Bashamichi, Yokohama, we offer a wide selection of carefully curated whiskies to quietly color your night. Spend a relaxing time to your heart's content with nostalgic flavors in our completely smoke-free, calm interior.
