Taketsuru 21 Years Old

Discontinued

The pinnacle of pure malt whisky, blended from long-aged stocks. An exquisite whisky featuring rich fruit aromas, a profound body, and a deep, lingering smoky finish.

An elusive legendary brand extremely difficult to obtain. The pinnacle of Nikka's proud pure malts

Bearing the name of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, "Taketsuru 21 Year Old" is a masterpiece by Nikka Whisky. It is a pure malt whisky in which the powerful, smoky malts from the Yoichi Distillery and the gorgeous, fruity malts from the Miyagikyo Distillery achieve a miraculous harmony after a long maturation period of 21 years or more.

Pour it into a glass, and rich, sweet aromas reminiscent of ripe fruit, plums, and chocolate rise up; take a sip, and a weighty yet surprisingly smooth and complex finish lingers on endlessly. Due to the global Japanese whisky boom, production can no longer keep up, making this a phantom bottle that has been discontinued. We have carefully stored it in our shop for a long time, but in response to the passionate requests of whisky-loving customers, we have finally broken the seal on our very last bottle.

Quietly nestled in Kannai, Yokohama, "bar83rd" is a hidden-gem bar that cherishes once-in-a-lifetime encounters with fine drinks. With future arrivals of the "Taketsuru 21 Year Old" being extremely hopeless, please enjoy its historic taste in our completely smoke-free, tranquil space while a small amount of volume remains in the bottle. We look forward to your early visit.
