The term "Bonded" originates from the Bottled-in-Bond Act enacted in the United States in 1897. To prevent inferior products and guarantee quality, this title is permitted only for whiskies that meet strict conditions: they must use only unblended whisky distilled at a single distillery during a single distilling season, be aged for at least four years in a government-supervised bonded warehouse, and be bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

It maintains an exquisite balance between the powerful punch characteristic of 100 proof and the rich rye flavor unique to Old Grand-Dad. Our recommendation is a "light soda" mix with a relatively small amount of carbonation. It leaves the satisfying drinking experience of a 50% ABV spirit while becoming a blissful drink with aromas that spread gorgeously. (We also offer a higher-proof 114 proof version.)
