When You Feel Like a Quiet Drink on a Friday Night

When the quiet evenings go on for a while, I sometimes feel a little low. Perhaps it is the autumn air, but lately I find myself missing people. There is value in sitting alone with a glass, of course, yet some nights call for a slow drink and a little company. I doubt I am the only one who feels that way.

Today happens to be Friday. There are probably lively gatherings all over town. Some people may be heading home from one of them, while others may be looking for somewhere peaceful, away from the crowds.

It can be lovely to carry the cheerful mood of the evening into one last glass. But stepping away from the noise and taking your time is another small luxury of the season. Whichever mood brings you here, I hope there will always be a warm welcome waiting at the end of the counter.

Sharing a drink and an easy conversation can gently loosen the knots in our hearts. I wonder who will come through the door tonight. I want this to be a place where people arrive with their own stories and enjoy a glass at their own pace.
