An Evening of Laughter, Gentle Distance, and Good Company

A close-knit group who often stop by after their gatherings came to see us again. There were five of them in all: two members and their guests.

I tend to keep a little distance so they can enjoy each other’s company, but they always invite me over, saying, ‘Master, come have a drink with us.’ It is a warm and thoughtful gesture, and I am truly grateful for it.

When I join them, I try to keep just the right distance. I leave room for the conversation to flow without interruption, then offer a playful remark when the moment calls for it. In that way, we shared a relaxed and cheerful evening.

Being part of the circle feels different from watching it from behind the counter. I sipped my drink while listening to their lively exchanges. The hours passed quietly, leaving only the pleasant afterglow of the evening in the bar.
