A night of first meetings, guided by the words on our website
Perhaps because we’ve fully launched our new website, we had a new guest drop by tonight who had already checked out the freshly published pages. What’s more, they had read through every single corner of our site before visiting.
They had carefully gone over everything, from the bartender’s background to the notice about our late opening hours. Learning that filled me with a mingled sense of surprise and delight. As a small bar, we want to stay connected with our guests even outside the hours spent drinking here. It feels like the space we built with that hope in mind is finally reaching people, little by little.
When a guest comes in after thoroughly reading the website, it creates this curious feeling where they don’t quite seem like a stranger. After all, they already know about both the bar and the bartender. As we exchanged words across the counter, a natural atmosphere flowed, making it hard to believe we were meeting for the very first time.
Words and pages quietly bridging the distance between the bar and our guests. Feeling this new sense of connection, I quietly washed the glasses. I think I’ll leave tonight’s lingering warmth tucked away in a corner of the shelf, as a gentle footprint that reached all the way here from the other side of the screen.
